FAQ
Is this a game?
Not in the traditional sense.
Some parts of the project look like a game. There are objects, simple rules, and moments of interaction but there’s no fixed goal, leaderboard, or ending.
It’s closer to a discovery-based experience. People can engage briefly, wander off, or follow along over time. All of those are valid.
Is this a business or a product?
Not right now.
This project is being developed as a creative experiment first. If it ever becomes a business, product, or formal release, that will grow naturally out of what’s already working — not the other way around.
For now, the focus is on exploration, learning, and staying playful long enough for something honest to take shape.
Is this a marketing or promotional project?
No... Neither of those things actually fit what's happening here.
There’s no campaign timeline, funnel, or conversion goal behind this. It isn’t designed to sell something or drive traffic in a specific way.
If anything, it’s an attempt to see what happens when creative work is allowed to exist before it’s optimized, branded, or explained too much.
How do people participate?
Participation is optional and informal.
Some people interact with the project directly in the world. Others follow along through documentation. Some just notice it exists and move on.
There’s no “right” way to participate and no expectation that everyone engages at the same level.
Is there a larger story or world behind this?
Yes — but it’s intentionally unfolding slowly.
Rather than explaining everything up front, the project lets a world emerge through curiosity, interaction, and small moments of discovery.
Clarity comes through experience, not exposition.
How do small businesses fit into this?
Small businesses are an important part of the project.
The work is designed to collaborate with local, independent businesses in ways that feel mutually supportive rather than transactional. Sometimes that means hosting a piece of the experience. Sometimes it means becoming part of the discovery itself.
The goal isn’t promotion in the traditional sense — it’s collaboration, presence, and shared curiosity.
Small businesses already understand how to build community at a human scale, which makes them natural creative partners.
See Small Businesses Collaborations page for more.
Is this meant to scale?
Maybe — but only if scaling makes sense.
Growth isn’t the primary goal. Staying meaningful, playful, and human is.
If the project ever expands, it will be because the core ideas held up through real interaction, not because growth was forced early.
Are you looking for collaborators or partners?
Possibly, but selectively.
This project works best with people and organizations that are comfortable with experimentation, ambiguity, and small steps.
Curiosity and alignment matter more than speed or scale.

How can I support this?
The simplest way to support the project is to pay attention.
Engaging thoughtfully, sharing curiosity, or participating when you encounter it in the world are all meaningful forms of support.
Where can I follow updates?
Updates and reflections are shared through ongoing documentation of the project.
Some aspects of the inner workings of the project can be found on Youtube.
The Hide & Seek Thing and illustrations can be followed on Instragram.
Field notes can be found on Notion.
Those notes act as a running record of what was tried, what worked, and what changed along the way.
